Once we’d purchased a map of Hanoi and figured out how far we’d probably be able to walk we decided to walk to the Temple of Literature. It’s amazing to think that there was a university established here 1,000 years ago! It was crowded with mostly Vietnamese visitors, were guessing since it’s the holiday season. We walked around and read the few signs that were in English but wished we had a guide or someone to explain it to us better.

See the guy fishing the money out of the pool?

Everyone who walked by was rubbing the turtles’ heads and touching the stelae, we’re assuming for good luck, but we’re not sure.

We passed by this wall being taken over by a tree walking back through the Old Quarter, and just had to get a photo of it.
