We got out of bed early to see the activity at Kata Beach and these photos were taken between 7 – 9am and as we had hoped, not too many people are at the beach at this hour.
Mostly joggers trying to lose weight and a few fishermen pulling in their nets next to the longtail boats as some boat drivers prepared their boats. Notice the Thai flag which is proudly flown on most boats.
Motorbikes, mostly mopeds are the main form of transportation. It’s common for them to be used as transport carts. This cart now emptied contained supplies for a refreshment stand.
It was a surprise to see many boats in the morning sun, including this fishing boat. Usually, in the afternoon there are only a few boats near the beach, mostly for parasailing.
