Petronas Towers, KL, Malaysia

The Petronas Towers used to be the world’s tallest skyscrapers, until they were surpassed by Taipei 101 in 2004.  Even though they are not the tallest buildings anymore, they are still a sight to see!  The architecture, which incorporates Islamic themes, is beautiful!  The towers serve as the headquarters of the national petroleum company, Petronas.

Visitors can go up to the 41st floor Skybridge that connects the two buildings.  The tickets are free, but it is a good idea to show up between 8:30-9:30am to make sure they have not run out.  We swung by around 9am to get our tickets before heading to the Chinese Embassy to get our Visas for China.

After ordering our Visas we went back to the towers and had time to take photos outside before going up to the bridge at our designated visiting time.

First they show a short video about the towers and then take a group up in a super fast elevator.  You are given 15 minutes on the bridge, which is enough to look around and take photos.

I thought I would be scared up on the bridge, but it is so well enclosed that it is not scary.

After our Skybridge visit we went into the attached Suria KLCC mall.  It was by far the most upscale mall I have ever been in!  To name a few of the stores, there was Versace, Prada, Gucci, Tiffany’s, and Cartier.  We enjoined doing some window shopping.

The Petronas Towers are definitely a place to visit if you are ever in KL!  It is not just the height of the towers that make them amazing, but their beautiful design.

  1. I still think the Petronas Towers is one of the most beautiful buildings in the world today. I’m sure you’ll agree if you see it all lighted up at night! Great blog by the way.
